Exams are done. The sun is out. I've only got sunburned once. Summer. The No BS Brass Summer Kick-off Tour has begun! We started yesterday at Collegiate School for the first of 3 in-town shows that will be the beginning of our trip. We're playing a free show at Balliceaux tonight, and at Chalkley Elementary School tomorrow.
Then the real fun begins. We will pile in the newly acquired bus (nicknamed the "Meat Wagon") and start driving south. The first stop will be in Greensboro, NC to hit the Blind Tiger. We played there several months ago in front of a different, yet enthusiastic crowd. The next night will be in Asheville for the Rocket Club. The final stop will in the deep south, Birmingham AL, home of Bryan Hooten and the Bottletree where will make our pseudo-Gulf Coast debut.
We will continue the tour in Richmond, playing Gallery 5 on Friday and The Camel on Saturaday.
The trip is certain to be a mix of mother jokes, incinerations, fun, sleep, and a host of other things. Our boy Lucas Fritz is coming along for the ride. Make sure you all follow us on Twitter (@bryanhooten, @jdillardwatt, @nobsbrass) for live updates from the road!
